Ahoy! D'ye fancy a strategy game based on brigandry, cutlass action and treasure hunts? Have you ever wanted to sail the high seas? Now you can, in Corsairs, a pirate third person overhead strategy game. You take on the role of an 18th century privateer, a seaman allowed to prey on the shipping of his country's enemies by the government. In other words, you are a legitimate pirate. You are devoted to your country and in charge of initially a single ship, but rising in power to command several ships. <br><br>After completing four tutorial levels, you sail the seas of the Caribbean on missions to trade with other cities, capture enemy ships, and build up your resources by purchasing new vessels and hiring a stronger crew. In battle, you control groups of brightly-colored pirate warriors and can also control crewmembers individually. You can employ spies and place them on enemy ships so that you can discover their capabilities before you board them.<br><br>The results of each battle can either be automatically calculated by the PC or determined by the player. Combat in the game can take place through a real-time strategy mode in which the crew and officers are controlled via a point and click interface. In either case, you'll need a safe base of operations to coordinate your successes in the New World, so build a fortress and always remember to protect your home city while you are out looking for booty.
