The quirky strategy RPG Z.H.P.: Unlosing Ranger vs. Darkdeath Evilman puts players in the shoes of an ordinary protagonist who witnesses the hit-and-run death of the Unlosing Ranger, and upon attempting to help the injured man, is handed the mystical Morphing Belt and entrusted with saving the world. Gamers earn experience points and items by heading to a training facility that consists of multi-floored, trap-filled, randomly generated dungeons. The action is turned based, and it is a solo adventure without the aid of a supporting party, so players must be cognizant of what the character can and cannot do before moving too close to enemies. While in the combat mode, gamers have the option of throwing enemies or items, unleashing item-based special attacks, or blocking impending attacks.<br><br>The best way to grow strong is to find the proper combination of masks, arm items, leg items, and special expansion items (tails, wings, etc.) for each particular level, and players can further strengthen their character by implanting equipment in the grid-based bodily modifications map. Z.H.P. also includes a Home Base Creation tool that functions more as a life development or construction sim, with gamers given the option to build a police station, an insurance office, and a blacksmith shop, among other locations. Each building offers specific benefits to the main character, and players can even build a home, complete with a wife and a daughter who offer solace after a long day of dungeon crawling. The ultimate goal of Z.H.P. is to grow strong enough to defeat the demon general Darkdeath Evilman, but hardcore gamers can also grind through a variety of 50-level dungeons in the "Mastery Cave" mode.
