The Yamaha HTR-5740 6.1 channel 100-watt home theater a/v receiver brings the vibrant, realistic surround sound experience of the cinema to the comfort of your home. The HTR-5740 delivers 100 watts of power through six surround sound channels, plus an additional rear channel. Adding to the sonic realism, this model provides subwoofer phase select and output to better control the depth of the audio produced from the system.Along with high power pushed through up to eight speakers and a sub-woofer, this Yamaha receiver also supports a high-quality visual experience. Connections include 5.1 channel audio line-in, SPDIF in/out, headphones, monitor out, speaker, subwoofer, line-in/out, component video in/out, and composite video/audio in/out. This variety of connections allows you to add your new equipment and re-use your existing equipment to build a complete multimedia entertainment center. Set up is easy with the included user manual.The front panel aux terminal makes connecting and disconnecting input devices such as your MP3 player to your racked receiver a breeze. Yamaha’s versatile HTR-5740 receiver provides multiple output decoders, including Dolby Pro Logic, Dolby Pro Logic (II and IIx), Dolby Digital Surround EX, DTS (Neo:6, DTS-ES Matrix 6.1 and 96/24), and Dolby Digital to take full advantage of your media sources. Since this unit is a Yamaha, it provides Yamaha's proprietary signal processing, including Cinema DSP (digital soundfield processing). This technology generates an encompassing aural experience that can make your home system sound like a theater because you can tailor to the specific acoustics of your room using your multifunction remote. DSP supports multiple presets, including Disco, Jazz club, Game, 5ch stereo, Mono Movie, Rock Concert, Music, Sci-Fi, Adventure, Concert Hall, Spectacle, General, Enhanced, and Variety/Sports. These specific presets help to transport you to the particular venue/setting of the even you are watching while you are sitting on your own sofa. The HTR-570 receiver offers two options for your late-night multimedia enjoyment. First, the two-mode (Cinema and Music), three-level Night Listening Enhancer makes sure that, even at low volume levels, you can clearly hear quiet sequences while retaining a rich surround effect. Second, the Silent Cinema mode option provides you an ambient listening experience through the front-mounted jack for traditional headphones while others sleep. This sonic versatility is sure to please the movie lover with a streaming service or DVD player, the audiophile with an extensive iPhone music library, the gaming enthusiast with a Sony PlayStation, or the nightly viewer with cable TV. The digital AM/FM tuner offers customization with 40 preset options and features such as a sleep timer, a preset control, and an adjustable fluorescent display. Accessories include a user manual, a loop AM antenna, a wire FM antenna, and a convenient infrared universal remote control with multi-brand compatibility for your MD recorder, CD recorder, TV, VCR, DVD player, CD player, or MD player.
