This release is the first ever collection of Murray Perahia's Complete Bach Recoridngs for Sony Classical. The eight original albums were recorded from 1997 to 2009. The release includes the famous Goldberg Variations (Gramophone Award) and English Suites 1, 3 & 6 (Grammy® Award), as well as the complete Partitas and solo keyboard concertos. Murray Perahia's absorption in recent years with the music of Johann Sebastian Bach has resulted in a series of highly acclaimed recordings of the Partitas ("beauty and strength merge as one"-Gramophone), the English Suites (Grammy® Award for Nos. 1, 3 and 6), the Keyboard Concertos ("intelligence, sensitivity and drama tempered by humility"- Gramophone) and the Goldberg Variations ("a version that isn't just colourful, or virtuosic, or thorough in terms of repeats, but profoundly moving as well"-Gramophone) that set new standards in Bach pianism. This collection brings together all of Perahia's Bach recordings for Sony Classical - a fascinating testimony to all the artistry and dedication that the pianist brings to the composer.
