It features four full-duplex 10/100/1000 LAN ports for connecting wired Ethernet devices while still providing lightning-fast speed for Wi-Fi devices. An advantage to using a wired connection when available is that it frees up bandwidth for wirelessly connected devices. Security is always an important issue when it comes to working or playing online. This is why Linksys uses a powerful SPI firewall, 2560-bit encryption, and password options to keep your data private. Built-in media servers give you the ability to stream music by connecting a USB external hard drive or flash drive. These routers feature Multiple Input Multiple Output technology. MIMO gives the Linksys WRT350N Wireless-N Gigabit Router consistent wireless LAN speeds to its connected users. Using this technology allows each antenna to independently transmit. This permits one to be used for signal reception and the other for signal transmitting. This advanced Wi-Fi data transfer enables the router to provide high-speed signals even with heavy user traffic. Running the Draft 802.11n IEEE Wi-Fi standard, the Linksys WRT350N provides speeds up to 300 Mbps over a wireless connection. This is fully compatible with older standards, including 802.11g and 802.11b.Ease-of-use features are readily accessed through the web admin control panel. This allows users to quickly set up and configure their device with minimal networking experience. Most of the device's setup is ready out of the box, and Linksys provides additional features to make router customization easy and quick. Multiple options for securing the router are available, including encrypted connection passwords via WEP, WPA, and WPA2. The Wi-Fi connection itself can be selected to stop broadcasting its SSID for additional network security. The Linksys WRT350N can also be configured as a wireless access point to expand an existing internetwork. This may also provide an additional signal boost for users located at a distance from the base wireless router. The Linksys WRT350N Wireless-N Gigabit Router is an all-in-one solution for home or business media and internet connectivity. Linksys Storage Link technology and settings make sharing media throughout the house or office easier than ever. Connections to the router's USB 2.0 port can be accessed by users on the internetwork like other forms of Network Access Storage. This is easily configured with the web control panel included with the router, requiring minimal setup by the user. Simply plug in the storage device to the router's USB 2.0 port. Next, you'll enable the Storage Link technology from the router's web control panel and ensure all devices are properly connected. Media stored on the drive can now be viewed by anyone connected to the router's network. The four one-gigabit ports in the back give users access to data-transfer speeds of 1000 Mbps when wired to the device. Multiple users can connect to the device's Wi-Fi connection. The maximum allowed number of users is only limited by the device's maximum bandwidth.
