Bryndle was founded in the 70's, very much part of the LA folk-rock wave that included CSN, The Eagles, Jackson Browne, and Linda Ronstadt. The band was signed in 1970 but never released an album until re-forming in 1993. The resulting music, though showing a lot of the 70's harmony-band heritage, was also very influenced by musicians who came along after those years. Much of what would become 80's and early 90's country-pop can be heard in the band's 1995 release, 'Bryndle'. On the latest CD, 'House of Silence', those influences remain and are joined by modern sounds recalling Sarah McLaughlin and Chris Isaak. Although the remaining members of Bryndle, Karla Bonoff, Wendy Waldman, and Kenny Edwards have solo careers, they show a long-burnished ensemble singing and arranging sensibility that many new artists have not developed.
