Dance Central 2 for the Microsoft Xbox 360 is fun to play alone or to use as an icebreaker at a party. This live-motion game, which was developed by video games producer Harmonix, uses Kinect technology to integrate its live action features. It’s a full-body experience that incorporates many song tracks and features more than 200 unique routines. Dance Central 2 has a huge library of more than 2,000 moves that have been put together by professional choreographers. Dancing games like this one provide opportunities for many types of entertainment. Invite your crew over for a dance-off or use your Xbox 360 for a solo workout.Dance Central 2 uses the Kinect motion-sensing peripheral device. Microsoft developed the Kinect device exclusively for use with Xbox 360 and Xbox One games. Players are paired against virtual two-dancer crews. Some virtual characters you can compete with include Bodie, L’il T, Glitch, Kerith, Jaryn, CYPH-56, CYPH-78, and Frenchy. As you learn the moves and beat your simulated opponents, you’ll progress through the game’s hierarchy. You’ll have to do the moves better and faster than your opponents in order to score. High scores unlock new virtual dancers wearing flashier, more stylish threads. You won’t have to rely solely on following the moves of your simulated opponents to master the steps. Dance Central 2 gives you cue cards that break down the steps for you. These cue cards slide up the side of the screen during dance-offs. The dance movements themselves follow patterns and build on one another. If one movement involves a shuffle and slide to the right, the next movement typically involves a shuffle and a slide to the left. The game features 44 songs by artists like Lady Gaga, Usher, Missy Elliott, Bruno Mars, Donna Summer, and P. Diddy. Some of these songs may be more challenging to groove to than others. Dance Central 2 makes allowances for this in its scoring system. The game also provides you with an easy way to download your favorite songs from other versions from the series.Where Dance Central 2 really shines is in its support for multiplayer interactions. You can challenge your virtual opponents with a friend or with a whole group of friends. You can also do away with your virtual opponents altogether and dance off against a real-life friend to your favorite music. The dance battles in this Xbox 360 game can get intense. There are three types of challenges: move-for-moves, solo performances, and Free 4 Alls. During a Free 4 All, the screen highlights a group of moves, which you have the option of performing in any order that you like. The first person to perform all the moves correctly wins the battle.Dancing games like this one are not only fun to play; they’re also a great way to stay fit.
