There was no padding, so my guess is that the box was mishandled at some point, and the neck was pushed down too far and broke, or it was already broke when packaged. Additionally; I got two fraud attempts on the credit card I used, that came from the UK where the purchase was made, a few weeks after the purchase. Thankfully my bank caught it. All in all a very bad experience.
