Synopsis
The adoption of blitzkrieg tactics in the German Army prior to the start of World War II meant that Germany needed a new kind of fighting vehicle to transport troops around the battlefield in support of the Panzer spearheads. It was in response to this requirement that the armored halftrack was developed during the mid-1930s.
