The Hitachi Travelstar 5K750 HTS547550A9E384 HDD can add a massive 500GB storage boost to many different types of devices. This 500GB capacity is packed into a slim 2.5-inch form factor. This makes it a great hard disk for laptops and netbooks. The drive's 5400 RPM spindle speed translates into low latency performance. The unit boasts an average seek time of about 12ms because of the high rotation. Each platter in the HTS547550A9E384 chassis has received a low-level advanced format, which has increased physical sector sizes to 4KB. This sector size update improves storage capacity and even improves compatibility with some file systems.Improved error correction abilities take all of the guesswork out of marking bad blocks on the HTS547550A9E384. Whenever your software drivers indicate a write check failure, the SATA controller makes a note of the physical location where the error occurred. After moving the data to a safe location on the hard drive, the SATA hardware marks the block as bad. You won't even have to do any work. The hard drive does it all automatically, which dramatically reduces the risk of data loss.Since this HGST compatible drive has a fast 8MB buffer, you could also use it as a mobile external volume. It fits any standard adapter, so you can plug this hard drive into an enclosure and then use it via a USB port. If you'd rather use it inside of a computer or mobile device, then this class of drives comes complete with an internal enclosure for this application. If your game console supports storing shows and movies as computer files, then you can use this volume to backup all of those video files. It can even store console DRM data so you won't have to deal with digital rights errors when viewing playback.
