- o***d (827)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseNot what I ordered. All 3 5mm x 1 taps have pointed ends. All 3 were supposed to be bottoming taps. I will keep the 3 set sent, but would have really preferred the bottoming taps.Reply from: toolandequipsales- Feedback replied by seller toolandequipsales.- Feedback replied by seller toolandequipsales. As we explained when we spoke about approving your return. You are welcome to return them for a refund. But, what designates the chamfer style of a tap is how far back the thread cutting surfaces are ground, Not the shape of the tip. If you look at the grind you will notice the difference. The Bottoming tap will only have the first 1-2 cutting surfaces ground, the Plug will have the first 4-5 and the Taper will have the most with 6-8 ground.
