The first time the lawn mower was used after installing this item, it smoke and the black coating bubbled up. My husband thought something was on fire. The black coating continued to smoke and bubble and then came off. I'm not sure the purpose of the black coating but it didn't last long. Otherwise, the part works as expected and as we hoped.
