I had realistic expectations about this book going into detail about the composing and recording of Simple Minds best music but this book fall pretty short of those. It needed a good editor (there is stuff which clearly missed being edited) who would not be afraid to ask the author to provide more detail rather than a race through their diaries of gigs. Derek's a great bass player and a really great guy but this is not the book it could have been.
