There is no way, you can send an item with corner tears on the cover, clearly down to the cardboard stock & can say this was a new book & expect anyone to be pleased to have spent 160 USD to recieve an item in a heavily used state. As a gift, it looks like I will have to find a better copy, probably should have tried Amazon like my first mind said, at least they said theirs was clearly in good condition & had been used.
