Well the item arrived and he box stated it was for a model y, the videos online showed a different shape and setup for the model 3 so i had to do some modification to make it fit including installing over not under the original lock so it would fit and cut the lower tab off the mount point to make room, but overall it works perfect and thats what matters. I can see using my frunk alot more due to the ease of use this device added. Thanks price was much better than local but not a direct fit
