素晴らしい！！まず、ケース形状のオクタゴン。ロイヤルオークを彷彿とさせる8角形が、円形のベゼルの直下にあり、正面から見ると円形に見えるが、少し斜め横から見るとオクタゴンが目に入る。このさり気なさが格好良い。ステンレス素材のベゼルには縦方向にヘアライン加工がしてあり、黒く刻まれた60までの数字がいい意味で目立っていないので、この価格帯の時計にしては安っぽさが全く感じられない。円形ベゼルはマットな質感だが、そのすぐ下の8角形部分はポリッシュ研磨されており、その輝きが高級感を演出している。ケース両側にはNautilusの様な「耳」が付いている。右側は竜頭ガードで、左側がオクタゴン形状をサポートするような一体化したデザインになっており、ベゼルの上から円形と八角形から、ケースに流れる一連の一体感が見事に調和されている。以前にもEDIFICEシリーズにはオクタゴンがあったが正直デザイン性はイマイチだと思っていた。しかし、この640DCのケースデザインは、非常に全体的なバランスが統一されていて実に素晴らしい。文字盤のグリーンとケースのガンメタ色も違和感がなく最高である。
