Rivers of Iron examines one aspect of President Xi Jinping's New Era : China's effort to create an intercountry railway system connecting China and its seven Southeast Asian neighbors (Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam).
