Victor Durand hired his artisans from Quezal so there is no difference. This lamp is outstanding and makes the kind of statement I wanted. Also, you will never know if the base is original because both firms sold their shades to lamp manufacturers, rather than making their own. Given the age of the lamp, it is possible that the base has been replaced. On the whole the condition is very good.
