The adapter has extremely tight fits for the SD card and for the CF slot on my camera. I had to pull hard on the adapter to get it out of the camera so in the interest of being extra careful with my camera I will continue to use my cable to transfer files to my laptop. If I didn't have the cable I would just leave the adapter in all the time.
