The Hoya HMC filters it turns out the coating is super fragile and requires no-touch no-clean policy - don't even breath on it. I have two identical filters one non-HMC to compare - and the HMC has very little if any optical advantage. The non-HMC still has perfect coating while the HMC looks rough after a single wipe with the same cloth. It's also delaminating a bit. I'll have to use only special cleaner and wipes for the job so I won't be buying any more. It's just kind of silly.
