The packaging was ingenious in its simplicity. I love the deep black finish. It plays well, sounds great, and the EQ is responsive. I had mistaken the listing title and had accidentally ordered the octave mandolin, but a quick communication with the seller and all was good. Can't say enough positive about this purchase.

I am just dipping my toes into the octave mandolin, so being able to find one for $300.00 delivered, I got one. I am NOT dissapointed at all. I contacted the seller prior to buying, And they were most helpfull. If I Decide to get another unusual instrument, I will certainly consider them again.

If you buy one with electronics, it will work with an amplifier. You'll connect a guitar cable to the base of the body. It doesn't have a built in tuner (just in case you were expecting one like with many electric/acoustic guitars). Slow shipping, but it was imported, so the shipping is reasonable given the size of the box.
