My saltwater aquarium upgrade is complete and this sand is the real deal and yes, as mentioned in the listing, rinse sand for best results but for the price this is the way to go especially for bigger aquariums.

THE SECOND PICTURE WAS THE ACCUAL SUBSTRATE WHICH WAS ( VERRY, VERRY FINE) AND I WAS NOT ABLE TO USE IT. I DID NOT SEE SECOND PICTURE AS I WAS GOING BY THE ONE PICTURED, WHICH I FEEL WAS MISLEADING. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER IF THE ACCUAL SUBSTRATE WAS SHOWN AND THE MAGNIFIED ONE SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE SECONDARY PICTURE. ALSO THE COLOR WAS WAY OFF.
