Product Information

The title refers to an apocryphal nation created by artist Renaldo Kuhler, that the visionary relied on to cope with the trials of an exceedingly difficult youth. In Kuhler's world, Rocaterrania is a miniscule nation of Eastern European immigrants, situated in between the Adirondack Mountains and the lower Canadian border. It was established when a small band of rebels grew restless with the poor excuse for democracy that they witnessed around them in the United States. The history of Rocaterrania includes such tumultuous events as revolutions, the crowning of czars and dictators, and the emergence of numerous colorful characters. All are fictitious, but each one parallels Kuhler's own life and experience in a unique way. This documentary delves into the complexities of Rocaterrania, while biographically profiling Kuhler. It features original music by the band Shark Quest.
