When you turn the Pioneer receiver around, you'll be able to locate the clearly marked connections on the rear side. Red, yellow, and white connectors that support banana-plug configurations cover the rear side so that you can make instant connections to speakers, amps, and other A/V items. You can connect your TV and Blu-ray items at the same time as well.Along the top side of the rear surface, you'll also find a bank of HDMI ports. HDMI inputs and outputs provide high-definition connectivity options for a wide variety of devices, including 3D electronics. You'll even be able to upgrade your home theater to 3D if you have a VSX-1020-K unit on hand. Enjoy Dolby surround sound as the images come to life on the screen by using these receivers in an appropriate configuration.A novel concept for the VSX-1020 is the integration of a USB port on the front of the receiver. With this connectivity, you can attach an iPod, iPad, or iPhone to your system and play your music directly from the devices. If you access movies and other media from your handheld device, you'll instantly see or hear it through the VSX-1020-K unit. You can download the Pioneer app to further enhance this connectivity. With this simplified software, your handheld device can control the stereo with remote capabilities. Balance the frequencies, change inputs, and refine all of the manual controls through this unique feature.This receiver has advanced video adjustments, including sharpness, brightness, contrast, hue, and chroma. Run your TV through the VSX-1020-K connections, and you'll see 1080p high-definition pictures on the screen. With Anchor Bay video processing as a standard feature, this device stands out for both its visual and audio qualities.Make this Bluetooth capable device the center of attention by trying old-fashioned radio signals through the speaker units. You'll have access to AM and FM stations along with internet radio access. Whatever the frequency's origination point, this device also comes with Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration, or MCACC capabilities. By using an included microphone, the receiver actually calibrates the connected components by using the frequencies entering the mic. These settings will adjust at any time if you move or change the configuration on this Direct Energy amplifier design.With the white lettering on the display, it will be easier to read the functions indicated on this unit.
