About this product
Product Information
The blue bomber is back on the really small screen, this time mirroring his most recent NES adventures, Mega Man 3 and 4. Mega Man must run, jump, slide and blast his way through two sections of four stages each. Section one features levels and bosses yanked straight from Mega Man 3 for the NES, which include Gemini Man, Snake Man, Spark Man, and Shadow Man.

After neutralizing these bad guys, Mega Man is allowed access to the second section of the game, where he faces Dust Man, Skull Man, Dive Man, and Drill Man; all straight from Mega Man IV. After these stages lies the game's biggest challenge, where the relentless Dr. Wily challenges our hero yet again, to a "final" showdown.

Fans of Mega Man's 8-bit adventures will know what to expect from Mega Man III for the Game Boy. Mega Man looks and controls the same as in his previous incarnations for the NES and Game Boy, but for the first time on a portable system, Mega Man is joined by his faithful robot canine Rush, who can transform into useful items.

Also new to the Game Boy is the implementation of the megabuster, a super-powerful version of Mega Man's arm cannon that can be charged by holding down the B button. This modification to the default weapon makes a nice addition to the special weapons Mega Man acquires after defeating each level boss.

The chief difference between Mega Man III for Game Boy and its big brothers is in the former's level of difficulty. Gamers should be prepared to play certain areas again and again to advance in the game. Thank goodness the Mega Man password feature remains intact!
