It was a crease which happened when the book was folded at some point. The shipping was shoddy as it was only a plastic bag and not bubble wrapped. If I could return it, I would. VERY DISAPPOINTED. On the back cover and I quote, "This is a book of life lessons." I sure learned mine from this seller. AVOID.
