- b***u (6)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseThe term museum quality is often used too casually in cut glass ads. You, however, underestimated the importance of the J. Hoare Croesus decanter. The silver is dated 1890 (rooster mark), which makes its date of origin to be within 3 years of when Croesus was first made by J. Hoare (per the Corning Museum 1887-1897). It is heavy 4.5 lbs with stopper and deeply cut. It was packed and shipped expertly. It was accurately described and fairly value.
