About this product
Product Information
Enjoy "all the excitement of a real casino" with Ken Uston Blackjack/Poker for the ColecoVision. Designed for up to four card sharks, the game lets you play blackjack (what some people call 21) or five-card stud poker accompanied by a tuxedo-wearing dealer named Max. Max uses four decks of cards in blackjack and a single deck of cards for poker.

House rules for blackjack dictate a minimum bet of one dollar and a maximum of 499 dollars. After looking at your first two cards, you can double your bet if you like. In poker, ante for cards must be between one and one hundred dollars with later bets never totaling more than twice your ante. The goal of blackjack is to get a hand that's closer to 21 than the dealer's hand, but not over 21.

Using the Coleco keypad, the game lets you hit when you want another card, stand if you don't want another card, double your bet after looking at your cards, see what your hand adds up to, ask for help, enter a bet, and clear a bet. If the dealer has an ace showing, you can wager a little side bet that he has a blackjack. If your first two cards or a pair or add up to ten, you can split and play it as two hands. The game ends when all players are bankrupt.

Five-card stud poker, which is similar to the electronic poker machines in Las Vegas, pits you and your fellow gamers against the dealer. After dealing one card face down to each player, Max deals the next one up and the action begins. Players bet in turn until all the players have either bet or folded. Then the dealer deals a new round and more bets are taken. After all the players have five cards, each hand is compared to the dealer's hand and the winning players are paid according to house odds.
