They replaced the original brushes in my Miele 5280 vaccum cleaner which I bought new in 2007. So, the originals lasted 16 years. I use the cleaner for about 45 minutes each week and the replacement brushes have lasted for two years - one brush is about half used and the other about two thirds worn. From our knowledge, uneven wear on carbon brushes is usually caused by different force applied to each brush, often due to the spring catching on the inside of the brush holder. We recommend cleaning the inside of the carbon brush holder to remove any carbon dust buildup. This will help the brushes slide more easily and extend their lifespan.
