I purchased this adapter to work with my HP ProBook notebook computer, which has the modified multimedia display port and requires an adapter to connect to HDMI. I already had one adapter that worked for video, but would not carry the audio. This adapter was supposed to provide an audio channel for the HDMI display, but it doesn't work with our projector. So I still can't get audio out from my computer without running a separate line for a speaker. That was disappointing.
