Based on the popular children's toys manufactured by the Tonka company, Tonka Raceway gives kids the chance to race one of 30 unique vehicles on one of four different types of tracks designed and built by the player. Cars and trucks created in the Tonka Garage game can be imported for more racing fun.<br><br>After signing in on the main screen, you head off to the Announcer's Booth where you can access all the activities. From the Press Box, you can look at the Hall of Fame and print awards and stickers. In the Architect's Trailer, you can design and build tracks while the Tonka TV Blimp lets you see a replay of the last race's finish. Furthermore, at the Upgrades Lab you can improve your vehicles.<br><br>Once you're ready to race, you go to the Starting Line from the booth. You can race alone in a time trial, go head-to-head against a friend or take on one of the Tonka Town characters. You have four different types of tracks from which to choose including the wild and slippery tundra, the hot and muddy jungle, rural farmlands or the dry and hot desert. The game comes with these four pre-built tracks and you can use those environments when building your custom tracks.<br><br>After selecting your vehicle and the number of laps you want to race, it's time to hit the track and see what you can do! As you race, you can see your current speed, how much time has elapsed, a map of the track along with your car's location and a damage indicator. If you suffer too much damage from hitting your opponents and other obstacles, you'll have to pull in for a pit stop. As you race, you can also grab power-ups that will boost your speed, fix some of your damage, improve your steering or increase your top speed.<br><br>You earn credits with each race you win. Use them to upgrade each vehicle's durability, acceleration, top speed and handling. If you perform well enough, you may see your name in the Hall of Fame or among the headlines in the Press Box. As you get better, you can win awards and trophies to add to your legacy as one of the top Tonka racers on your block.
