Play as any of the 28 teams in the NHL, including the 1999 expansion team the Atlanta Thrashers. Every team has authentic players whose abilities are based on their real-life stats.<br><br>Play an exhibition game or play for bragging rights in the Stanley Cup playoffs or a 4- to 16-team tournament. You can also take your team through up to ten seasons of hockey action and try to build a dynasty worthy of the greatest in history. Tutorials are available to help you hone your skills and practice your moves. <br><br>If you want to play against other people, you can get online and play over the Internet or your modem.<br><br>Before you get out on the ice, you can tweak your team's strategy. How aggressive do you want to be in the other team's end versus your own end? How do you want to handle power plays and penalty-killing situations? Once you're done you can practice your strategies.<br><br>Out on the ice it's every man for himself with new big hits and big dekes. Take the goalie high or low with more precise shooting. Get into a brawl with the other team's enforcer and show him who's boss. Higher frame rates render all the action with more fluidity than in previous versions.<br><br>Would you like to see yourself out there with the pros? Now you can create a new player, import a picture of yourself, and assign him to your favorite team. Just make sure you assign him to a line and you're all set to make your hockey fantasies come true.<br><br>Every team's arena is represented, and licensed music from Garbage, Uberzone and Gearwhore bring the intensity of being at the game into your home.
