It did unfortunately smell like cigarette smoke when received and needed to be heavily sanitized to get the smell out. It was missing a piece (not the seller's fault though, it was a shown in photos and I didn't realize it was missing). Overall, it was a good price, but I may have gone with a different option if I had known about the smell.
