Reviews
"This book is an important summary of the history of bison management in Wood Buffalo National Park."--Dr. Cormack Gates, Chairman, Wood Bison Recovery Team "The authors make a good case for the hypothesis that the physical changes in the Delta have favoured wolves at the expense of the bison. They consider that the most pressing problem facing the Park is the need to reverse the changes that have occurred in hydrological regime in the hope that it is not too late to reverse the changes that have occurred in the vegetation. I strongly support the position and hope that the recommendations will not fall on deaf bureaucratic ears. Time is of the essence."--Dr. W.A. Fuller, Professor Emeritus and former head, Department of Zoology, University of Alberta "The very name of Wood Buffalo National Park conjures up images of immense northern wilderness and bison herds linked to shifting pulse of sedge productivity. In this land of ecological superlatives, the ever adaptable wolf tops an ecological system that at once fascinates and challenges us. This study is the only in-depth study of a predator-prey system that once dominated the mid-section of the North American continent."--Dr. Rolf Peterson, Professor of Wildlife Ecology, Michigan Technological University, This Book Is an Important Summary of the History of Bison Management in Wood Buffalo National Park., The authors make a good case for the hypothesis that the physical changes in the Delta have favoured wolves at the expense of the bison. This particular set of books was apparently in the hands of a very heavy smoker, as all of them reek of the smell of cigarette smoke; this should have been noted in the description of the product. We will have to get rid of this set, as it smells up the house - we are non-smokers, and have a low tolerance for the odor.

Please note that all of our items come from a non-smoking home. Given the age of this set (from 1952), it may have developed a slight musty scent over time. This was an isolated incident, and I strive to accurately describe all items. Rest assured, I take great care in ensuring the quality of my books.
