So I purchesed this for use with my Sony dvp-cx985v which is a 400 disc dvd player, I say that because changing discs is a big part of the remotes job. Does the remote turn on the unit,yes does it work on the dvd, meaning start stop and so forth, yes. Is it the correct remote for the unit, no not by a mile. It offers none of the functions of switching between dvds or setting up functions. It isnt the remote that came with the unit, so the hunt continues. If
