Thanks for the feedback. It is a lovely teapot, and we're glad to hear you like it. It came from my aunt's estate, she was a collector. We gifted it to her in 2000. It didn't occur to us to test it, and we apologize for that oversight. We would happily accept a return if you wanted it for use rather than display.
