The small batt powers the analog hands. Probably didn't know it was there. I own several of the 3-eye versions so I know how they are set up.These are great if you want an inexpensive watch that can virtually do all time functions. They are getting hard to come by these days. Smart watches which have these function and do biometrics have superseded them but cost more.
