Seller Notes: “Good-Very Good overall antique cond: This rather scarce & early 19th c account of the post US War ... “Good-Very Good overall antique cond: This rather scarce & early 19th c account of the post US War of Independence struggle w/Great Britain, is an account of the infamous continuation of the earlier struggle, manifesting itself in the early 19th c, as the 'Late War' between the US & Great Britain,' or more easily said, the 'War of 1812,' which was most noted by its fierce & decisive naval engagements between the nascent American Republic's navy & that of the King's navy of Great Britain. It's a complete vol, containing profuse, often full pg W/B plate illustrations of many of the naval engagements between the US & Great Britain on the Great Lakes & other places, 1 notable naval battle occurring between the USS Wasp & the British vessel HMS Frolic out in the open Atlantic, where the Frolic was captured by the Americans on the Wasp. US Commodore Perry's victory over the British on Lake Erie is also pictured, as well as Native Americans fighting alongside the British against the Americans.”
