In Football, VCS owners hit the field in Atari's unusual take on the gridiron classic. Four on four teams battle it out on a stationary, vertical field with options to pass, run, or punt the ball, with an automatic seven points being awarded for a touchdown. Blocky players resembling washers and dryers flash incessantly, while controlling them is as precise as one of those vibrating, electric football games. Football's gameplay was easily eclipsed by rival Intellivision's NFL Football, but Atari later redeemed itself with RealSports Football.
