Seller Notes: “Good-Very Good overall antique cond: A very hard-to-find & splendid mid-19th c American antique ... “Good-Very Good overall antique cond: A very hard-to-find & splendid mid-19th c American antique cloth vol of early exploration & travel in the American western territories & the narrated early interactions w/the Native American people inhabiting the land there, while also giving detailed, topographic descriptions of the geography, mountain ranges, rivers, landscape & of the vast, largely unchartered territories, that later became known as the states of California, Oregon, Kansas & Nebraska. The vol titled, 'The Life of Col. John Charles Fremont & His Narrative of Explorations & Adventures in Kansas, Nebraska, Oregon & California' was pub in 1856 by Miller, Orton & Mulligan & was written by the American explorer & writer Col. John Charles Fremont. Although there were several individual & group expeditions out west after the famous & well doc Lewis & Clark Expeditions, at the onset of the early 19th c, each & every personal narrative contributes to the collective knowledge of this era.”
