I was under the impression that they were genuine SONY BRANDED remotes, but they were clones, and the clones are not programmable for different TVs. They may work fine for adjusting the volume on Sony TVs, but they won't work with any other TV. The SONY BRANDED remotes are programmable to operate the volume on other TV brands.
