A monster that can create holes in time sends our hero and his friends back in time to the pre-modern era. Modern-Sonic and his companions team up with Classic-Sonic and other pals. Together they take on the union of Modern-Eggman and Classic-Eggman. The two villains are trying to sow chaos by manipulating time. That's the root of how the two eras can overlap. It lets the team mix old villains, like Metal Sonic, in with new bosses. It even includes a cameo of Super Sonic. The presentation banks on nostalgia. The music contains many classic themes, both old and remixed. It is done to invoke the player's memories of the older games in the series. The locations work the same way. There are appearances from stages dating back to the first games. "Sonic Generations" was released on November 1, 2011. It is rated E for Everyone, so its content is geared towards gaming enthusiasts of all ages. Cartoon violence is present on this title.
