The finish is smooth and the edges are also smoothly machined. The only issue is (to my eyes, at least) this control plate looks more nickel than chrome (see photos). The new control plate (not installed) looks a little warmer than the chrome parts from Fender. The Seller did offer me a refund, but I chose to keep the part because I really like it. Good communication.
