    Everything about this has been fun. The old, old saddle has absorbed a large amount of neatsfoot oil, which is what we used in Navy diving on the leather hardhat items that were in and out of salt water all the time, and more modern dedicated leather treatments. It just keeps soaking up what are proving to be resurrecting liquids, looking thoroughly vintage now, getting a little bit soft, and I hope the Brooks Proofide that's on its way will be all we need.
