Owner's inscription & erasure marks to front end paper; scattered foxing & smudges to page margins. Otherwise, interior clean. Sporadic toning along page edges. Scattered pulling to gutters, but pages remain secure. Front hinge starting to crack at top end, but remains sound. Book is firm. Spine mildly slanted. Covers have faded from original blue to a slate blue, with spine completely sun-faded. Gilt titles & decorations are a bit rubbed & worn, particularly on spine, but remain bright & legible. Wear & softening to spine ends, with a bit of fraying & some loss to cloth at head of spine, & a short tear in cloth at heel of spine. Rubbing & wear along spine edges & around edges of boards; softening/mild bumping to bottom corners; rubbing & wear & mild soiling to front & rear boards. Map has 3-inch tear along bottom edge of gutter where it is pulling away from binding.”
