It uses Apple Carplay to connect with the new vehicles instead of just the USB. A lot of the new vehicles don't detect the CD players through the USB, I assume because they use bluetooth to recognize phones instead of through the USB. Only thing I wish it had was a couple of bolt holes on the sides and small brackets to attach it to the Car/Truck.

The Cadillac CT6 was DISCONTINUED January 2020. • Your technical “experts” disagreed on the CD PLAYER malfunctions vs. the vehicle being responsible. • The Cadillac dealer confirmed that the AppleCarPlay was functioning correctly on my vehicle. • GM has a functional CD player available for CT6 vehicles up to 2018 (but not thereafter) for considerably less $ than your player
