Offrd fr yr rvw & cnsdrtn is ths btfl, J. L. Shaw sgnd, mid-20th c American vint geo-abstrct, hnd dec, stn glzd, whl-thrwn, red clay cer vase w/pronounced shldrs & a dlctly fluted top. The sdwll's crcmnvgtng grphc icngrphy hs a dstnctly tribal, indigenous flvr, w/a rptng African, tribal-like antelope hide, battle shield motif. The conjoined imagery is realized in a speckled sand color, marked w/horizontal strikes of truncated sepia brown, w/white line representing some kind of mysterious, enigmatic figuration. The base glaze color behind the sidewall graphics is a wonderful lt slate blue, which is semi-transparent & variegated. The fluted top is undamaged, as is the rest of the vessel. The vase doesn't suffer from any edge flea-bites, image loss or depreciation of its complex & sensitive glaze colors. There are no surface scuffs or abrasions. Estate fresh. 100% untouched & new to the marketplace. Very fine.”
