It measures only 3.7 inches by 1.0 inches by 0.4 inches, or 93.5 millimeters by 26 millimeters by 11 millimeters. Power isn’t sacrificed for portability, and these adapters work equally well as fixed-position solutions for the home or office. The interface used is Universal Serial Bus 2.0. This interface is backward-compatible and forward-compatible. That means the product will work just fine with USB 3.0. It will also work with USB 1.0/1.1.This device supports the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of various operating systems. These are Windows XP, Vista, 2000, Windows 7, and Windows 8/8.1. In most cases, your OS will auto-detect the adapter and install any necessary driver or other software. If a firmware update is required, this can be completed online while using this product for the network connection. TP-Link also provides advanced wireless setup options for users who prefer granular control.The antenna included with this TP-Link adapter is the detachable type. You can position it parallel or perpendicular to the wireless adapter. A change of a small degree can result in a significant performance difference depending on the environment.Based on IEEE 802.11n technology, the TL-WN722N connects via B/G/N Wi-Fi. It can achieve a networking throughput of up to 150 Mbps in N mode. A 150 Mbps connection is often strong enough for video streaming and large file transfers. In G and B mode, it can achieve up to 54 and 11 Mbps, respectively. Even these lower speeds are fast enough for most activities on the Internet or a LAN. It operates at a 2.4000-2.4835 GHz, which is the standard networking frequency.Wireless modes supported are the ad-hoc and infrastructure modes. Certifications include CE, FCC, and RoHS. Supported security mechanisms include 64-bit and 128-bit WEP and WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK. Advanced security options are present, but this TP-Link adapter provides a hands-off experience for the average user. Pushing the WPS button not only establishes and configures access but encrypts it so that your transmissions are protected.In retail packaging, the TP-Link TL-WN722N wireless USB adapter is accompanied by accessories.
