Seller Notes: “Good-Very Good overall antique cond: Offered is this terrific, auth & completely orig early-mid ... “Good-Very Good overall antique cond: Offered is this terrific, auth & completely orig early-mid 19th c, pre-US Civil War, natural colored bentwood pine wood pantry box, w/its orig fitted wood lid & tapered side clasp. The single board top & bottom thin pine planks don't suffer from any splits, fractures or repairs (old or new.) The top lid, bottom pine plank & bentwood sidewalls are all in terrific shape & don't have any depreciating fractures, significant scuffs or deep abrasions. The surfaces have an orig, nat oxidized patina & dry, matte finish. This early-mid 19th c American antique wood pantry box has its orig wood lid & feats early, nailed metal fasteners & all wood construction. These early pantry boxes, sometimes painted in various colors but often seen in this natural, unpainted finish, were omnipresent objects in early New England homes & held a variety of food items, keeping them away from harmful pests. Great color & orig, natural, dry, matte surfaces. Early Tupperware.”
