    I received an HP EliteBook 840 G4 w/ Windows 11 Pro (which ran well) and upgraded the SSD, RAM, and batteries. I was careless with the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module upgrade, failed to remove the battery, dropped the screw on the mobo, and short circuited the mobo causing the Wi-Fi to no longer work. I felt compelled to repair the laptop after the money spent on upgrades. Honestly, I didn’t expect the mobo to work. But it does work; the laptop is fully functional again, and runs Linux.
